1. I agree with that. I think the goal of the right is control over women, and ending abortion is

just one tool to do that.

As I have said, I predict that the next legislative wave of effort, after they have made abortions scarce, will revolve around making the legal requirements to run a child-care facility prohibitive so that child-care becomes scarce and expensive.

2. My take on it is that he thinks abortion is part of a bigger issue -

the issue of women deciding what to do with their own bodies.

It would be different if he said abortion is not AN issue, he said abortion is not THE issue.
