The Department of Transportation announced new regulations Monday requiring all new vehicles to include rear-view cameras.
Under the new regulation, rear-view cameras must be built into all new vehicles under 10,000 pounds, including everything from super-small compact cars to large vans, but excluding some heavy-duty trucks.

i know this is going to sound "old man" but when i've rented cars that have those, i just don't trust them. i only trust my own eyes to tell me how close i am to the car behind me whether there is a child running behind me. i fear, having seen how OTHERS drive with these cameras when i'm in the passenger seat, that they inspire overconfidence.

i know i can still turn around, i just worry about other drivers abandoning checking for themselves
