If we don't win 2014 it's because we're not mean like they are.

I work in political advertising. One of the things that defines Democrats, perhaps THE thing that defines Democrats, is that we're reasonable...and not mean. Republicans have not compunction about being mean and hateful. We look up these traits as negative, they look upon these traits as necessary to get what they want. At any cost. Lies, dishonesty, hate, it doesn't matter...HATE HATE HATE, whatever it takes to win. However, it is against our nature as Democrats. That's why we're Democrats.

So the only solution is to GET OUT THE VOTE!

I'm working on it. How about you?

We won in a landslide on hope for change. And while some changes took place, they weren't the changes most of the voters were actually asking for. People wanted jobs again, with security and a living wage. They got healthcare insurance, which is a good thing, but doesn't pay for food, shelter, or any of a myriad things people need apart from healthcare insurance.

And the people put in to 'fix' the economy the Republicans crashed 'fixed' it for the 0.1%, and not for the rest of us. The recovery passed almost everyone by. What new jobs did come about paid less and were less secure.

We can win by being honest and true to Democratic principles and actually working to deliver what the public wants. They're not stupid, they know we can't get legislation passed in the House. But they do actually see when we at least try, as opposed to ignoring the problems we face.

We have a totally GOP media who trashes everything we say. If we go on air being nice or honest, they have four lying GOP bastards on next to counter our message. We keep trying nice and honest, but they know lying and cheating work better. It doesn't help that our Democratic leaders keep betraying our principles because so many are beholden to the same lobbyists as the GOP.
