Police Officer abuses K9 on video.

A police officer who is supposedly "trained" to be a K9 handler abuses his dog on an outrageous video. I saw the news story here, and then searched for the video.

I am going to post the video, but at the end. I am going to warn you now, that the language in the video is rather inappropriate for work, so that aside, let's move on.

The officer has been placed on "administrative" leave while the investigation is ongoing. The phrase "administrative leave" for those of you who don't know is the euphemism for paid vacation while the department decides which excuse is going to be used to cover up the excessive force or inappropriate behavior of the police officer. Historically, when an officer abuses or kills his dog, the department releases a statement that the officer feels terrible about it, and that is the end of that.

I want you to take a moment and imagine what would happen if you struck a police dog. I believe in many States, if not nearly all states, the penalty for striking or killing a police dog is the same for striking or killing a police officer. I don't know about Indiana, but if I had struck the dog, I wouldn't be on paid vacation while the cops investigate. I'd be in jail while they tack on as many charges as possible.

Worst case scenario for this fine example of a police officer, he gets fired and sent to another department where they will almost certainly decide to take advantage of his training and make him a K9 officer for them.

Here is the video, I wouldn't watch it animal lovers, it turned my stomach.
