Let it be a lesson to not post on severe lack of sleep (almost 2 weeks of round-the-clock 24/7 baby kitten watch) and pain medication. I took them on my wife's watch and instead of going to sleep I (apparently) went online.

I was surprised when I saw I had replies when I logged on today. (Mon. afternoon)

I don't usually take prescription pain medication but a couple of things hit me and I needed them. Since the babies were doing better my wife insisted. Yesterday was kind of fuzzy too. But I'm much better today.

I'm not trying to excuse it, it's just what happened.

I do not much like invasions, particularly in Europe. I do not like to see the reconstitution of an old empire, which is what Russia, Czarist or Soviet, was. I think the people of Ukraine, like people everywhere, have the right to revolution against a government they come to abhor, without interference from a larger neighbor, particularly one which wishes to reassert a former dominance only lately escaped from. I find it very odd to see people who would angrily reject sphere of interest arguments in regards to U.S. action in, say, Venezuela or Ecuador, pressing them with fervor in defense of Russian actions in Ukraine. I am of the view that 'reviving the Cold War' is a blade with no handle, and that those picking it up to accuse others are generally doing the same themselves, only from a different direction: the left has deeply engrained Cold War reflexes, just as much as the right does. I do not see any danger of an armed confrontation between the United States and Russia coming of this, let alone a revival of the arms race which characterized the decades following WWII.

I still differ with you on Russia/Ukraine Situation...because you don't seem to see the NeoCon Influence and seem embedded into a mind set about Cold War that refuses to acknowledge what has been revealed about what has gone on there and since then.

But...hopefully ...we can agree to disagree on issues and still find common ground on a few bits to move us forward. I would wish that the rest of us on this site could not always look for "enemies" but to find some meeting ground here and there.
