“I buried Paul.” Remember the rumors that Paul McCartney was dead, and while it hadn’t been

revealed publicly, there were many clues in Beatle songs and on album covers?

Well, did you ever think, if that were true….wouldn’t it be pretty, well, stupid? I mean, why would anybody do that?

Often death increases a celebrity’s popularity for a while, so why keep it a secret?

And if someone DID want to keep it a secret, why drop hints and clues about it???

(See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_is_dead if you’re not familiar with this.)

I was at college, and suddenly the story that he'd been killed started flying around. I recall young women actually sobbing at the news, and being puzzled by their reaction. While I certainly knew who the man was, the depth of their reactions to his death mystified me. I thought, "Ok, someone killed a musician. I know it's sad, but...really? Did you know the guy?"

The media went to wall-to-wall coverage as if someone who was actually important had died.

I actually didn't know about the coverage until some months later, as I don't own a TV and so, thankfully, miss out on that sort of stuff.

that they still believe it to this day.

Of course it would be stupid, mean, not to mention impossible.

I mean, they found a left-handed bass player who looks just like Paul, wrote music and had the same voice.

Then not only were his band mates cold enough to go along with "Faux Paul", but also his father, brother and his huge family in Liverpool...oh, and also his live-in girlfriend had no problem living with the impostor.

One "proof" is a video of Paul missing a tooth ( he had an accident on a moped). I guess it means they build him piece by piece...like Frankenstein's monster...or something...

8. Paul put it to rest on SNL ... he admitted the whole thing was a HOAX in a sketch with Chris Farley

Paul and John and the others were just playing with their fans. They put backwards messages in their songs; they wrote nonsense lyrics (like "I Am The Walrus&quot knowing fans would try to "read" something meaningful into them ...

We had one here (Barry Richards) who went on for a couple weeks about it, playing songs backward. And of course on one album cover Paul wasn't wearing shoes, indicating he had died.

that is not wearing shoes? And why is it that when you play "Number 9" backward it says, "turn me on dead man"?
