Cat is found pierced by arrow; $1,000 reward is offered to find culprit

By Kevin Cole

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the person responsible for impaling a cat with an arrow.

Mark Langan, of the Nebraska Humane Society, said an Omaha resident found the cat Wednesday in his yard near 68th and Pacific Streets. Animal control officers rushed the cat into emergency surgery.

The cat, a gray, domestic long-haired neutered male, appears to be about 1-year-old. Langan said additional surgery could be needed.

“A lot of people don't like cats in their yards and go to extensive means to keep them out,” Langan said. “Obviously, someone crossed the line by shooting this cat with an arrow.”

from the same article:

In a separate incident, a 5-year-old female pit bull that was left inside a car died Wednesday afternoon, Langan said. The dog apparently died from heat exhaustion while trapped inside a car at 44th and Dodge Streets, he said. A 23-year-old man told animal control officers that he was inside a store for about 35 minutes when he came out to discover his dog had died.

Langan said the outside temperature was well over 90 degrees, and the inside temperature of the car was 130 degrees. The dog owner had parked directly in the sun and left the car windows up.

A boxer puppy also left in the car survived and was returned to the owner, who was cited for two counts of animal endangerment.

How fucking stupid can somebody be? And the fucking returned the puppy that survived to the killer?

Keeping a bow and by the window and shooting cats? Maybe it's just an urban legend.
