(10,622 posts)Think of it as a false flag operation. Gut some programs, cut some taxes, pass crappy free trade and since it is a false flag operation, the Democrats get the blame and ire of the public. Win win for the GOP.

The party will only be strong if it values actual values over political expediency, cult of personality, or the desire to cower before conservatives.
There I go again, I know a dozen posters that will be pissed off at the way I put that.
For personal reasons, very bad stuff in my life right now, it really made me feel good that you posted what you did.
I needed that, thanks.

(8,021 posts)The OP presents CBO data in 2007 dollars (i.e., "real income" . What's your source?
Elwood P Dowd
(11,443 posts)they calculate "real income". Increases in the costs of food and energy are no longer included in the CPI. Also, tons of substitution tricks were added to the formula. When you consider that, real income figures for the middle class and poor are totally skewed compared to the old days.
Dragonfli

(53,410 posts)It wouldn't have ever hurt the 1% if we had all done well. They would have never had to alter their lives or dreams. They could have had all they ever wanted, yet it seems that what they wanted was to see others suffer.
But I really think they don't even care whether we suffer. It just not that personal to them.
How utterly needless our demise is. It probably never even crosses their consciousness.
