She refuses to say "I am not going to run for president."
She repeated, yet again, to Bob Sheiffer this morning, that "I am not running for president."

I'd take "I am not going to run for president in 2016" ... or ... "I am not going to run for president, ever" ... or ... "I have no interest in being president" ... or ... "Are you kidding me? Who would want that job?"
I'm willing to accept her serving out her senate term. That places her in good timing to get some groundwork done and then to run for president in 2020. I do hope, however, that she pulls a Barack Obama and runs in 2016 despite her ambiguous oft-repeated, singular declaration.

(I would prefer her to be the Dem nominee, but just stating a reality here.)

(712 posts)To some of you....GET OVER IT , Hillary will never win the Presidency
Why do you want to see a Republican win this....because that's what would happen if Hillary runs and gets the nomination.

(108,955 posts)Give her a break. If she were going to run for President, she would already have had to start by now. Hillary's got an organization already set to go on Day 1. Anyone opposing her is at least in the heavy planning stages.

(13,685 posts)Because the turnout for Warren will be the biggest turnout ever.
Note that she did not say she isn't planning. Of course she and her people are planning.
I think Hilary will not run. She knows better.

(69,014 posts)I get truly nauseated by the Koch enablers who so desperately want to watch Elizabeth and Hillary cancel each other out.
Because that's what this "Everyone will vote for Elizabeth" crap is. Divide and conquer, the vilest form of concern trolling.
I want Elizabeth in the Senate, moving Hillary as far left as we need her to be. I want them working TOGETHER.

(24,096 posts)no, running against the Obama organization was the challenge in '08. I think you got that wrong.
Wwhere you the one slagging on Michelle Obama and calling her names in regards to what you thought was wrong about her talking/trying to help the Nigeria girls? I'm sorry if I mix you up with someone else, but I dont think so.

(108,955 posts)In fact, law professors strive to speak very clearly. Obfuscating or purposely conveying less than true information isn't a habit of teachers. Even law school teachers.

(30,058 posts)Ear of other Congressional members. She swings a big stick and I don't hear a lot of other members wanting to challenge her. I thought Hillary could do more for working people as Senator than as president and think the same about Warren.

(22,000 posts)To put it in perspective, Barack Obama didn't announce his candidacy until Feb 2007 about 21 months before he won.
The 2016 election is almost 30 months away.
Anyone who is writing people off is a fool.
MineralMan
(146,254 posts)It's 2014. Nobody is announcing their candidacy for President in 2016. We have a mid-term election coming that will change the political scene to some degree. There won't be any announcements until after the November election. Instead, potential candidates will continue to hedge, because they don't know yet what their decision will be.
Like everyone should be doing, those potential candidates are focusing on 2014.
GOTV 2014 and Beyond!
