Now it's a sure bet that Bitcoin is here to stay - and proof that this place doesn't have to be a hermetically sealed echo chamber on the topic, where everyone marches in lock step.

Rep. Jared Polis, a liberal Democrat from Colorado and a bitcoin backer, immediately announced his campaign would begin accepting the digital money. He praised the FEC for its "forward-looking stance" to recognize "the rights of individuals seeking alternatives to government-backed currencies to participate in our democratic political process."

Was walking down a section of town near the stadium and a little coffee shop had a sign in the window that they excepted Bitcoins, so I just went in and ordered.
They said that since they started accepted them a month or so ago, they had a surge in business from local people who use Bitcoins - so I guess those first adopters are going to get the market advantage after all (much like overstock.com and Tiger Direct).
