1. Had me teary eyed
The swipe at NY was unnecessary though as they can't prove anything and it's a different milieu altogether.

2. That young man showed the difference between your standard Christian...
...and a spiritual follower of Christ. I'm not Christian myself, but I respect the way he represented both himself and his beliefs.
Obviously he wasn't the only good person in the show, but given the way we hear religious folk referred to around her so often, he is the one who stood out to me the most. |

3. The Red State/Blue State junk is phony. It's the politicians keeping this foolishness going.
Pretty telling that you see people standing up more for the gay couple in Texas than New York in the video.
It's the artificial promotion of a vocal minority by a politician pumping up this rah-rah. Gerrymandering districts & fixing the vote. That's not to say regressive views aren't there but that they're being amplified beyond their real numbers. That's why it's not good to wholesale stereotype those in the South as bigots. There's a significant number of bigots here but there is also a significant number of people trying to kill that bigoted image. And there's a lot of bigots outside of the South even in those so-called "Blue States"... ...EVEN if they vote Democratic. Then again maybe the show just got lucky to find a pocket of fair-minded people in the region. Still it's a positive sign that progress is slowly (it's ALWAYS slowly) being made. John Lucas |

4. Norma's Cafe is a great place. Just saying.
Farmer's Branch is not as deep red as out in the rural areas, but still, the stereotypes about Texans are unfair (as are stereotypes in general).
