he's gone through 3 networks (Fox, MSNBC, now Current). At some point, you have to wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

Olbermann as anyone here on DU. But, as another poster has already noted, he's burned his way through 3 networks now. There comes a point when you have to ask if something about him isn't the problem, rather than it always being the other guy's fault.

I know it won't happen, given his problems with Murdoch, but Fox is hemorrhaging viewers and this might be a way to get their audience to tune in....if just for the outrage. It would be great entertainment just for the audience head implosions. I guy can dream, can't he?

Could be that he's independent enough and financially secure enough to stand up for himself and not play the bullshit games.

They all have enormous egos for the most part. Shrinking violets don't go very far in show business and politics. What I care about is what someone stands for. In the case of Keith he stood virtually alone in blasting Cheney and Bush at a time when others were fawning over the flight suit. As far as the internal politics at a network, it's something involving details I will never know. I know from experience, however, that the workplace can involve a lot of pressures that lead to hard feelings on all sides.

and his politics but shit that ego is just a bit on the overboard side and always has been. I do hope he finds something that he really succeeds at.

Going through those networks like he has does send a message. I'm guessing he'll get a radio show.

The talent there right now have proven that they can't be muzzled because of GE or anyone else. Countdown was never the same on Current. From his frequent absences, to the bare set. I like Keith and appreciate his progressive positions, but seeing him go after Al Gore and and a progressive network is really disappointing.

And Olbermann has a problem taking crap from tools? I have no idea, but just because he has gotten sideways of executives repeatedly doesn't automatically mean that executives were right and he was wrong.
