Restaurant Review Says Waitresses Should “Show More Skin.” You’ll Be Glad The Owner Agrees…

Restaurant Review Says Waitresses Should “Show More Skin.” You’ll Be Glad The Owner Agrees…
May 21, 2014

When a customer of Atomic Grill in Morgantown, West Virginia left a review online suggesting that the female servers “show more skin,” owner Daniel McCawley completely agreed.

You’d think in this day and age such a suggestion would be ignored, but that’s not how they roll at Atomic Grill, apparently. This weekend, show up at the Morgantown eatery for all the skin you can handle.

Potato skins, that is…

Potato-Skins-from-Atomic-Grill

Over Memorial Day weekend, if you order their loaded potato skins, you will be making a donation to help women. The restaurant is donating 100% of the sales from that appetizer to the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services.

Says McCawley…

I’m a husband and a father of a 12 year old girl. I have five sisters and it was just offensive. If you have a minute, have some potato skins, try some fresh, local barbecue and give to a good cause. It’s important to us, it should be important to the community.

McCawley - you are awesome!! If you are near the Atomic Grill considering grabbing some skins this weekend!

5. Thinking, how a great example of one man looking at the women around him as his porn...

And another man that looks at women around him as people.

13. Yep. I'm guessing they deleted the reviewer's comments because he was getting confronted

for being such an ass. Unfortunately you know how these guys are, he'll probably blame it all on the feminists.

Nice to see you sea

15. Reminds me of the song by Collin Raye "I Think About You..."

It's about a cop who sees women being hurt on the streets and domestic violence and says they should be treated with respect and caring, remembering that they are, or were, someone's little girl. Because he thinks of his own little girl.

I Think About You ~ Collin Raye

Every time I see a woman on a billboard sign

I think about you

Saying, "Drink this beer and you'll be mine"

I think about you

When an actress on a movie screen
Plays Lolita in some old man's dreams
It doesn't matter who she is

I think about you

When I see a pretty woman walking down the street

I think about you

Men look her up and down like she's some kind of treat

Oh, I think about you

She wouldn't dare talk to a stranger
Always has to be aware of the danger
It doesn't matter who she is

I think about you, eight years old, big blue eyes and a heart of gold

When I look at this world,
I think about you and I can't help but see that every woman used to be
Somebody's little girl, I think about you

Every time I hear people say it's never gonna change

I think about you

Like it's some kind of joke, some kind of game

Girl, I think about you

When I see a woman on the news
Who didn't ask to be abandoned or abused
It doesn't matter who she is

I think about you, eight years old, big blue eyes and a heart of gold

When I look at this world, I think about you and I can't help but see that every woman used to be
Somebody's little girl,

I think about you, eight years old, big blue eyes and a heart of gold

When I look at this world,
I think about you

I think about you

Oh, I think about you

Yeah, I think about you

I believe the owner of the cafe. The world is not all B&W, and some things are worth more than money.

There is a video to this song but some would find it objectionable, or it would be a trigger to some.

Because first, it's a cop scene. Second, the women are shown as victims of abuse from the sex trade or their spouses and friends, with black eyes, bruises and terror in their eyes. Third, it is a country music song.

There is a form of love and respect that does not lead to sexual relations. There are many men who think like this restaurant owner, but they will be dismissed.

38. One of my favorite...

Love Collin Raye. An under appreciated singer song writer and a C&W singer I listen too.

8. Bookmarking this so I can find the name of the restaurant in the future.

We will certainly stop at this eatery in the future, when we travel through Morgantown. Mr. McCawley is a stand up guy. He has my admiration for standing up to the ignorant restaurant critic.

His family and friends should be very proud of him. Here is a guy that stands up to misogynist shit and is not afraid his friends will call him wuss or some nonsense.

Bravo!

The big day came and it was rollerskating guys in wigs.

22. I just called Mike @ the Atomic Grill(2:45pmEST)

the phone # is 304-241-1170. I left a donation so they will bring lunch to the WVa Foundation staff some day after 5/27. I told him I read this on Democratic Underground. Anyone else want to sent some potato skins for lunch?

Everyone in my party liked their meal and they use local ingredient when possible. A bit pricey but worth it for the unique cuisine.

Apparently this customer also felt entitled to see female skin while he was at it. What an entitled ass.

Excellent response by the owner. Too bad he took the review down, it would be nice to see that asshole get clobbered with his own stupidity ad infinitum.
