Not that my state of mind has ever been in equilibrium.

I'll tell you an anecdote. When I was young(er) I had a friend who spoke about how a wildlife photographer requires more skill than a hunter to blend into the land and get the pictures. At the same time the two of us were into martial arts and he would recite aphorisms about how the best defence was strong legs for running away, and learning how to defuse a fellow set to blow up in violence. That was then.
Years later my friend became a hunter (with rifle, not camera). He spoke about his guns, showed me how he loaded his own bullets, and explained about how it was a point of honor that he took down an animal with one shot clean kills. He explained about how it was for providing food. Not much time later, in fact almost no time later, he explained how he hunted and killed bears, for trophy kills. In a momentary lapse he explained that there was a sexual thing about it, about taking the shot. I don't understand the reason for his "evolution" from cameraman to killer, but it happened, and, well, I don't hang around with that guy anymore.

long ago I thought that being the tough guy was who I was. Then I learned it is much harder to be the nice guy. There is nothing wrong with anyone who hunts for food, we would be an extinct species had we not. Trophy hunting, acts of violence and actions that make life more difficult for others I won't even discuss, delrem.

No record. NONE. I have two Masters and a Ph.D. Live in wealthy Montgomery County.

I tried to buy a gun. All kinds of road blocks and extra shit I needed just to get a fucking permit.

Now, I understand that it's more difficult in this blue state to purchase a gun, but this is fucking ridiculous.

You have purposefully and deliberately missed the point. You are willingly acting as if you are stupid and ignorant to what is being discussed.

you just arent doing it well.

There arent different rules for whites and blacks buying guns so using that as any sort of example of racism is just dumb. It wouldn't have been any easier for a white woman to buy a gun in your state than it was for you.

Also the rules are the same for whites and blacks for voting also a dumb example.

Now if you want to talk about how voter ID laws more than likely disenfranchise more blacks then whites I am on board, but when you want to run with stupid examples like the one in the op well...

including the so-called stand your ground--have disparate impacts on people of color because they are applied unfairly. Sentencing is another example, which is why I don't and won't support the legalization of marijuana until people of color are pardoned for serving long jail terms for simple possession, with FULL citizenship rights restored.

If you can't understand the significance of what the OP's illustration signifies, that's not my problem. I'm happy that others in this thread do.

Most likely because you know it is stupid. You now have to change the debate to different things that definitely do make the point you think was being made by the dumb OP graphic.

The fact that you had to move the goal post so far pretty well makes my point for me.

And this part I find insanely stupid.

which is why I don't and won't support the legalization of marijuana until people of color are pardoned for serving long jail terms for simple possession, with FULL citizenship rights restored.

You know that it disproportionately affects POC yet you would rather it continues to do so than stop it in it's tracks because you want pardons. That is so mind numbingly dumb I find it difficult to take anything else you might say seriously.

Yes much better we should continue to throw POC's in jail disproportionately over a law than change it.

I mean, seriously? That wouldn't work.....sad truth is, we'd need a fair bit more success in this regard before we could even *consider* blanket pardons for large amounts of people, regardless of their nationality. I mean, as much as I'd like for that to happen, reality dictates that we can't do everything all at once or even outside a certain order. That's just how it is.

voter ID issue be a nonissue because showing ID is something that everybody has to do. I'll explain it as quickly as I can before I go to bed. Voter ID laws are set up to disenfranchise a very select group of people (blacks and other races, but mostly blacks) from voting because the others know that they can't win elections fairly. So they created the idea of voter fraud. Get it yet? Black and brown people are actually voting and they are not voting republican. So, they had to invent a fake problem to which they came up with a shitty solution to discourage black/brown people from voting. Now, I concede that black/brown people do buy guns, but this picture is certainly representative of the group of people who get bent out of shape/cry about "they gone take my guns"/show up in public places with guns strapped to their bodies, ready to take down anybody who "don't look right"/don't agree with them. K. I'm going to bed now. Good night, all.
