It's interesting watching many of my female facebook friends change their political affiliation

I have a very diverse set of 'friends' on facebook and usually make a habit of checking their 'Political Views' field. Being in the South, a lot of my female friends have 'conservative' or 'Republican' listed. A dozen or so have dropped anything resembling GOP in their basic information field.

Some just removed all references to political views. A couple of listed 'Democrat' or 'Liberal.' The rest have something vague like 'I'm middle America - woo me,' or 'wildcard at this point.'

They kicked him out of the Republican Party. So, he just made his own!

There have been liberal Republicans since TR, although they are now unofficially extinct.

Everett Dirksen was liberal on social issues, despite being a Vietnam War-hawk.

George Romney was far more liberal than his misbegotten robo-politician son, Mitt.

Lincoln Chaffee was probably the last of the liberal Repubs.

He finally crossed over to the good guys side.
I'm surprised Lisa Murkowski is still an R.

Instead of using "where you gonna go" against liberals, why not against the right? Why not say, hey vote for us because they're crazy. But quit catering to them. I sincerely doubt there are so many devout Kristians in this country that they are willing to vote away their rights and hand them over to their employers. Because most people I know hate their boss and the thought of him (mostly him) making their health decisions makes their skin crawl. People vote away their rights every time they vote Republican, but they might not have understood it.

My friend always says, Some people don't change when they see the light, they gotta feel the heat." I truly believe that most Republicans lack imagination and empathy, so it does take something to affect them before they see the light. We see that a lot with Republican conversion stories. Well, there are lots of women and men who don't want 20 kids like the Duggars. They don't want the kind of lifestyle the fundies are trying to force upon them. They don't care what the right does to gays or poor people. But if it effects them directly, then they might flip.

So Democrats, PLEASE, outline your vision of how this country should work. How your plan will benefit people instead of corporations and banks. How education and science are important and why. What you are going to do to fix climate change. And how single payer health care which divorces coverage from employment is the only answer against discrimination. You won't need half of the donations you think you do if this is your platform and if you are sincere. You will have lots of volunteers and lots of them will be women.

The more people, especially women, may start waking up. This COULD be a vital force to the outcome of the 2014 Mid-term elections. Each one of us needs to lobby our apathetic friends to show up at the polls and stop the conservative loons from doing more damage.

1. Any woman voting Republican ever again is justifiably a moron. (40% still will)

2. Young white women via their laziness and self-centeredness boycotted the last midterms causing the mess in the House and will again have to be dragged kicking and pouting to the voting booth this fall.

but, yeah, glad to have them at least not vote against EVERY WOMAN'S BEST INTERESTS.

I detest women, especially, who vote for Republicans. I just immediately assume they're bubbled-headed idiots.
