Where else in the world, but the US, do companies enjoy such a close relationship with politicians? China? Corruption is so rampant in China that the chinese government has to resort to executions as a deterrent.

to anyone or anything other than their own profit.

Oh, and here in the US, they're persons (which is the point of the OP).

It's becoming increasingly clear that the only entities still entitled to the protections inherent in the US Constitution are corporations.

On the other hand, we, as citizens, are seen as terrorists by our own government, eligible to be "taken out" whenever Mr. Obama, in one of his Tuesday assassination meetings, determines that we pose a danger to the Imperial State.

What's not to like??

And oh my, are they responsible. From the tiny to the large. Few bucks to GE, couple more to Bechtel, a dash of BP, little taste of Dow and a sprinkling of Monsanto. Mmmmmm. Smells like a death dealing, environment destroying hot plate of retirement funds.
Every dollar helping to remake the world in the image of the corporations they support.
I see them today zipping around in golf carts. Smiling and happy. All thanks to the efforts of good people they financially supported in the past like Pinochet.
Sipping fine wines paid for with proceeds from oil companies. Laughing as they leave this world behind broken and burning. Most assuredly worse for the short existence they had. Never once considering they could leave this world known as a force for compassion, decency and stewardship. They much prefer to have been a small cog in a planet consuming orgy of blood, heat and tears.

I am 61 years old. I was right there when the Marvel comics made the transformation to super hero comics. It was an amazing time. I have a feeling of nostalgia toward the old cats. Can't help it.

man-mountains by a man with the mind of a badly debauched 11-year-old boy who brags of never editing, using live models, sitting in on a class, working or other styles, or otherwise expanding himself would suit our current corporate culture a little better!

but I do love Kirby (and Sienkiewicz, and I also have a THING about exposing tracers--Tony the Tiger? in an editorial cartoon? c'mon!)
