Yes, we have many imperfections. Always have really, but we also always have and still have many things to honor and celebrate in the USA. I see it every day in Maine, one of our most beautiful places, and we have many. Yesterday my family and I were swimming in a gorgeous Maine lake surrounded by mountains and evergreens. Just awesome.
We have millions of wonderful, generous people who always look beyond themselves to serve the needs of others.
We have innovators, inventors, scientists, some great schools at all levels, and deeply dedicated educators. We have cities filled with mind-blowing feats of engineering and labor. We have doctors and nurses who care for us and work so hard. (My mother and sister are nurses. I know.) Our creativity abounds. And, overall, we have come a very long way socially.
We had a very unlikely Revolution that was as an EVOLUTION of ideas and ideals, and we must honor those who made it happen, from the leaders, to the many women who cared for the sick and injured and ran the farms and businesses back home, to the thousands of African Americans who participated, to all the common soldiers and sailors who put their lives on the line and endured hardships we could scarcely imagine.
I am a product of early and then later European immigrants who came here for something better and worked very hard. They started businesses, worked in businesses, moved, took risks, farmed, fished, got educated, labored very hard, and helped build this nation. We must honor our ancestors and look to them that we may do our part.
THANK YOU AMERICA !
