With these new high dollar car seats, isn't there someway to put the kids back into the front where the parent can see them?

to remember they're in the car? Does anyone forget that their kid is in the house just because they can't see them and go out for the night? Or forget them in the yard and lock up the house for the night? or forget they brought them to the store and just drive home without them? Just why is it that parents need to have some special reminder that their kid is in the car when they put them in there to begin with, and nobody seems to forget their kid is a mere one or two feet away from them when they're anywhere else other than a car.

Nobody needs to have the car seat in the front with them to remember that their kid is in the car. But a lot of people sure as hell need to stop turning their brain off when they drive. And it sure doesn't help when people make excuses for this behavior. "It could happen to anyone" is a REALLY bad excuse because it only happens to those people that switch off their brain when they get behind the wheel when it's vital that driving is a dangerous activity that requires being alert and more acutely conscious of what's going on around them and recognizing the responsibility one has to any living being passenger in their car.

I'm sick to death of it being given to me instead of a rational answer as if the Washington Post is the be all and end all of everything.

It's really simple... the car has become a place where people let themselves become zombiefied so much so that dumbasses actually forget a living being is in the car with them when they never would forget them anywhere else and when it's the one place where they have to be alert and are responsible for the safety of their passengers. Anyone that can forget their dog or their kid is in their car shouldn't be allowed to drive, period. And a hearty piss on anyone trying to make it seem a normal thing when it's anything but. It's nothing but a lame and tragic excuse for people that shouldn't have the privilege to drive if they can so easily forget their own child or their dog is in their car and when they put them in there themselves.
