(112,101 posts)He went to an interview in San Antonio on Monday and stayed out on the farm would some of his old friends down near George West for the next few nights. The friend near our age was a mechanic who had a stroke and his parents are nearly 80 so they can use some help. My brother got some pretty severe burns on his hand though last night when a string of firecrackers went off in his hand when he was distracted by their dog--he has eight blisters on his hand.
I've been here in Wharton in the mean time trying to stay cool. I went to indigent care on Wednesday and was kind of discouraged by two people that I saw there who said they were waiting 3-4 years to get SSDI. One woman had most of the same issues as I do and also had heart surgery so that put me in a depressed mood. Needless to say, I don't think that I can hold out if it takes longer than the end of this year since my sister and BIL in Houston are already wanting for me to take back the cat and my brother won't let me have it. I went ahead and called a SSDI lawyer up that afternoon since I feel like I will need an advocate and if I'm denied initially it will speed up the process.
