Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Montana, Iowa, and the Dakotas are all more than 50% rural:

(14,733 posts)My preferences ran more towards, erm, fru-fru drinks. Strawberry margaritas, pina coladas, and various sorts of cider, although there was a period where I tried out a lot of single malts. Nowadays, I'm pretty close to a tee-totaller, though not for any really dogmatic reasons. (good tasting) Alcohol is too expensive, and you can do 'virgin' versions that taste pretty much just as good. Plus, I haven't been on the dating scene for a decade and a half, so there's none of that spending time in bars any more.
