Progressive Tom Guild Came In First In The Oklahoma-5 Primary (HoR) (run off required)

Blue America endorsed candidate Tom Guild took first in his run for Congress in Oklahoma-5. Current Rep James Lankford is leaving to try for Coburn's senate seat.

Tom Guild opposes the cat food commission on Social Security
Believes in strengthening Medicare
Supports spending to repair our infrastructure
Extending unemployment benefits
Raising the minimum wage
Supports unions and opposes 'right to work laws'
Supports the ACA
Opposes hobby lobby
Supports Women's rights to make their own medical decisions
Supports equal rights for GLBT Americans
Opposes military action in Iran
Believes in Climate Change
Wants to overturn Citizens United

Guild finished first in a 3-way primary against a state Senator who is rather conservative (and by rather I mean, Mark Pryor is a liberal next to him).
Tom Guild got 42.1% of the vote Al McAffrey (Represents District 88 in the state senate) drew 30.9% and Leona Leonard took 27%. Oklahoma law requires a runoff, which will be August 26.

registered than they had during the last election. Hope we see some change in the atmosphere there. I can't imagine a more toxic governor.
