Hating on gay people has been a fund raising tactic on the Right for decades. But now the majority of Americans just see sex gender marriage as a non-issue.

Dick Cheney's daughter, etc. etc. -- RW 1%ers don't really care but they know that the issue has historically rallied part of their base. They appeal to anger and fear because that is what works with people who feel rather than think.

Same thing with marijuana -- saying that it leads to something worse implies that MJ by itself is not bad...so they sell it is a domino thing instead.

They are losing social issues to keep their base distracted with one by one.
