(28,182 posts)On the flight in, bets were probably taken on how Perry would behave.
Put yourself in Obama's position, if you were to go meet someone who acted like a jerk the day before, wouldn't you be mocking his behavior before meeting him the next day... joking about how he's react, and then laugh when it comes to fruition?
3catwoman3
(23,970 posts)...want to, and I totally love how President Obama has started calling out the obstructionists in his recent speeches. I hope he continues to do so.
I also hope he has a punching bag in the WH gym with Boehner's and McConnell's faces on it. And Issa, Cruz, McCain, Graham, Kyl, and a whole host of others. And maybe Palin's face inside a spitoon.

(57,936 posts)Obama just has to get the word out. We do have laws that govern immigration, that state who may come in and stay and who may not. They will be applied. The Republicans can help change those laws, but Obama's hands are tied until they do. The laws permit us to aid refugees and to send those who are not refugees and enter without visas home. Obviously, Obama's job is to enforce those laws. Judges decide who stays and who goes.
The last laugh is Obama's when it comes to the ridiculous antics of the Republican Party on this issue.l

(2,381 posts)It looks to me, in the absence of any context to the contrary, like he is in the middle of telling a joke or funny story, and the punchline somehow involves the exaggerated petulant scowl.
The big clue for me is the President's laugh -- President Obama is too polite to laugh that openly in front of someone who is truly angry.

rick perry is a national joke. Ever since his "Governor Oops" moment on that debate stage, he's been a national joke. A friend of mine from Texas could not stop talking about what a smart politician he is and how savvy and shrewd he is and he's SUCH a GOOD PoliTICIAN! And then came that GOP debate. Haven't heard a peep out of that friend, about how wonderful rick perry is, since then.
