Obama just has to get the word out. We do have laws that govern immigration, that state who may come in and stay and who may not. They will be applied. The Republicans can help change those laws, but Obama's hands are tied until they do. The laws permit us to aid refugees and to send those who are not refugees and enter without visas home. Obviously, Obama's job is to enforce those laws. Judges decide who stays and who goes.

The last laugh is Obama's when it comes to the ridiculous antics of the Republican Party on this issue.l

This is one dude who could read the Gettysburg Address aloud and make it sound stupid. Or the Bible. Of course, he'd stumble all over the "begets" and we'd probably have to get a gurney and wheel him outta there.

"Ask Rick to name the three things he'd do to fix the border crisis."

That would be my guess for the caption, anyway.

It looks to me, in the absence of any context to the contrary, like he is in the middle of telling a joke or funny story, and the punchline somehow involves the exaggerated petulant scowl.

The big clue for me is the President's laugh -- President Obama is too polite to laugh that openly in front of someone who is truly angry.

metaphor. My Dad's family have lived in TX for generations, and I haven't heard that one, but I'm saving it for future use. Can't wait until I have that chance.

Glad you're here! Good one-liner! Sure seems to fit here!

rick perry is a national joke. Ever since his "Governor Oops" moment on that debate stage, he's been a national joke. A friend of mine from Texas could not stop talking about what a smart politician he is and how savvy and shrewd he is and he's SUCH a GOOD PoliTICIAN! And then came that GOP debate. Haven't heard a peep out of that friend, about how wonderful rick perry is, since then.

Great to have you with us! Oops! Maybe his "smart glasses" ARE working, though. They actually look like something he sent away for, from the back of a comic book - the "X-ray vision" kind that supposedly lets you see through women's clothing. Then again, given that premise, he's pouting because maybe they really AREN'T working as expected.

Hey rick, didn't your mother tell you not to make faces - cuz your face would freeze like that?

Too bad they don't have the ability to actually put a brain inside his head. He still has that single marble just rolling around inside his otherwise empty head.

The story has nothing to do with Perry's facial expression and makes no reference to that photo, which just makes the headline's timing funnier.

This photo is, as the OP states “worth a thousand words”. There’s no need for any caption, it is positively elegant in its clarity. Thanks kpete.
