Texas man kicked in front door, tied up family, and shot them in the head execution style

A Texas man accused of killing six people, including four children, was turned away by a teenager when he first went to the victims' home, but he returned a short time later, kicked in the door, tied up the family and then shot them in the head execution style, according to court testimony today.

Ron Haskell, 33, was charged with capital murder following his arrest after a long standoff with police in Spring, Texas.

The carnage ended when a wounded 15-year-old girl called 911 and alerted police to the shooting and said that the gunman was on his way to shoot her grandparents, police said. Cops intercepted Haskell, who was related to the victims, and took him into custody following a tense standoff.

According to a statement read in court this morning, the teenage girl told police that the shooter was her ex-uncle, and she survived by playing dead after he shot her in the back of the head.

but so far it's looking like California, just by the fact that his mother lives there and he assaulted her as well. Or it could be Utah. Nothing has stated that he lives in, or was from, Texas. No matter what, he sounds like someone that should never have been able to get a gun.

Gunman demanded to know ex-wife's whereabouts

Haskell had a handful of previous run-ins with law enforcement in Utah, where he had lived with his wife. Neighbors said Haskell's marriage was so rocky that Stay went to Utah last fall to help her sister escape the relationship and start a new life in Texas.

Stay "was very instrumental in helping her sister get here so she could have a fresh start. Katie's a spitfire. She has energy to stand up for what she believes is right and true," said Verena Beckstrand, a neighbor who choked back tears as she talked about the family.

Haskell had previously been jailed in 2008 in Logan, about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City, on charges of assault and domestic violence. His wife told police he dragged her by her hair and struck her in the head in front of their children.

Those charges were later dismissed as part of a plea deal, according to information released Thursday by Logan authorities.

This is the most detailed story I've seen yet, and I'm sure more will come out in the coming days and weeks.

That a former family member could do such a thing to children.

And that such a thing happening won't even make most Americans think twice about gun control.

What this poor child had to endure, and will suffer for the rest of her life.

Court records in two states show that Haskell had previously faced domestic assault charges and had a protective order put against him by his wife before they divorced on Valentine's Day this year.

While living in Utah, Haskell was charged with simple assault and child abuse or neglect in 2008. He was served with a protective order in early July 2013 before his wife Melanie Kaye Haskell filed for divorce on Feb. 14, 2014.

Most recently, his mother filed a domestic violence complaint against him on July 3 in California.

This shithead should not have had access to guns.

for the assault on his mother. In a perfect world, such custody, following a restraining order and an attack, should have held him until he was evaluated for his inability to control his behavior within his embittered emotional state of mind.

Do you know if he was ever in custody for the attack on his mother?
