RE: ABC's correction of misrepresentation in the news yesterday

I had noted this misrepresentation of the picture in the news and contacted their news department asking them to correct the error. am sure others did this as well. I think this is something we need to do immediately when we see news that is not factual rather than just coming to boards like this and grousing amongst ourselves. Abandoning the media does nothing but allow the rest of the population to continue to receive poor or misrepresentational media. You need to know what is out there and it is our responsibility to create a market for truthful journalism.

I checked my e-mail today and found this message.

Hi ABC Viewer,

Thank you for your feedback to ABC Television Network.

On Tuesday night "World News" aired a report on the conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis, including attacks from both sides. In the introduction to the story, we mistakenly identified people in two still photos. They are Palestinian, not Israeli, and were shown in the aftermath of an Israeli air strike in Gaza. We regret the error and have corrected it.

Best Regards,

ABC Television Network Audience Relations
