Two Men Charged For Nearly Crashing Drone Into NYPD Helicopter Over George Washington Bridge

Not sure how I feel about these things yet....A good friend has one (A DU'er) and for the most part, they're harmless. And, if what the operators say is true, the Police Helicopter came after THEM or IT. I'd much rather have one of these things flying around me than a US government operated one, but there is going to be a critical mass circumstance I fear.

I'm not sure I understand the charges against these 2. I admit I didn't read the entire article, but how is this different from major airliners nearly crashing into each other? If the drone didn't hit the helicopter then what is the crime? Sorry, maybe I should go back & read the article. lol I really do think the gun nuts will be shooting these out of the sky on a daily basis - it would just be too tempting and they could always say their were "skeered" of it. I also assume a falling drone could hurt someone.
