Obama raises big bucks at home of man who said president and Netanyahu are on ‘the same page’

Ever wonder why the White House has so much trouble saying a critical word about Israel? Well last night, President Obama spoke at a private Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraising dinner in North Dallas– minimum contribution $10,000 a head. The president began:

"Well, to the whole Stanley family, because we’ve got a whole crew here, I want to say thank you. Marc and Wendy have just been great friends for such a long time and great supporters not just to me but of good causes here in Texas and all across the country, and we couldn’t ask for better friends. And we’re really thankful to all of them."

The speech was at the Stanleys’ house (says the Dallas NBC affiliate). Marc Stanley is a prominent Dallas attorney and a vocal supporter of Israel. He said in 2011:

Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Obama are truly on the same page.

. . . but he is properly mindful that the democratic state of Israel is an important and vital ally in the Middle East. Just last month the president promised to work with the Palestinian unity government, over Netanyahu's objections.
