(62,270 posts)They are under the auspices of "Palestinian right of return" and are not allowed to leave under the Arab League even if they wanted to. No Arab country will allow them to migrate.
I am not arguing that they should migrate, but I am merely pointing out that they can't, even if they wanted to.
So the prison walls are built by both sides. Israel and the Arab world. There is no debating that objectively, imo. If Israel wants to persecute, they can, at whim.

(51,907 posts)--is purely physical, ast Stewart pointed out.
They could fly out of there if somehow magically an Arab League state would accept them. Israel would be happy to let them go. After all, it's a prison.

(51,907 posts)Why wouldn't the US or some European country accept them?
joshcryer
(62,270 posts)It could be greater, but that's where it stands. No idea about the EU. But it's a reality that the "right of return" forbids any Arab League state from accepting them, so they can't even apply to leave to go to those states.
It's a perpetual war, funded by the east and west alike. It's an open air prison. It's despicable.

(62,270 posts)How do you think the 1k_ Palestinian-Americnas gets out? A magic school bus? Flights happen. Just, only, when Hamas is not lobbing explosives around.
eridani
(51,907 posts)This is bullshit. Given that 10 Palestinians die for every Israeli, Hamas weaponry is pretty chickenshit.
We don't even let nearby kids in.

By the way we should contrast Tweety's uninformed rant today with Chris Hayes' who has been very objective.
Thanks Jon Stewart.

(3,864 posts)keep forgetting. A couple of people (I think you were one of them, Malaise!) have said he was good.

(268,949 posts)He has really been objective re the latest madness. Matthews (who rarely does his homework) apparently didn't know that the missiles were a response to the three Israeli young men who were killed. There was no proof of who killed those innocent young men but there was collective punishment.

"liberal" response to Fox. well I guess they could be called liberal, they are certainly not progressive.
there used to be a good guy on- Cenk Uygur - I think he has his own show somewhere.

(50,414 posts)Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
