I wonder if Russians notice the similarity in names. They must, although I don't know what "Putin" means in Russian. It doesn't sound good in English. Sometimes I call him "Fartin'."

It's more clever with word play, puns, and rhymes. Some off color, some offensive, some obscene. Some words lose their religious connotation and some of the reason for their use, and puns are just nasty to translate.
