Cable or satellite company horror stories?

Anyone have any cable or satellite "service" horror stories?

I don't, I'm quite satisfied with Charter Cablevision.
In fact, they just saved me $30 a month!

But for example, a friend I have in Baltimore Maryland set up 9 appointments with Comcast to install his cable, and all 9 times nobody showed up.
(He finally went with a satellite service.)

3 separate Comcast technicians got my desktop computer in such bad shape, they had to remove it from my home to fix it. They brought it back with ALL of my files on it but not one single program on it.

...I ended up in a Time-Warner Cable territory. Things are going ok now but they started off pretty crappy.

Also, if I leave the TV on the same channel for more than four hours (as I was in the habit of doing just putting on MSNBC and leaving it there all day while I work at my desk), a screen comes up saying the channel is temporarily unavailable until I press the A button. I sleep with my TV on as a way to wind down my mind from the day and it's a great way to stimulate dreaming. So, when this happens in the middle of the night, it goes completely quiet and withing seconds I'm awake having to deal with it. Then I have to sometimes fight to get back to sleep. I hate that 4-hour timer, especially when I feel I'm paying for a full month of service, not constantly interupted service. My payment to TWC isn't intermittent during each month and it's on time.

A Cox technician came out to work on a problem with our phone lines and cut the damned Cat5 cable I had laid to make a patch in a separate line. I called furious and they denied it at first but I got them to repair what their idiot had done. Now if they come out I watch them like a hawk. They tend to hire some real dufusses.
