<snip>
“I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.”

....

“I have a theory that the truth is never told during the nine-to-five hours.”

....

“Walk tall, kick ass, learn to speak Arabic, love music and never forget you come from a long line of truth seekers, lovers and warriors.”

....

“The TV business is a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs. There is also a negative side.”

Met Hunter when I was 21. He was working for RS; my boss (I was an au pair) was Dick Goodwin who had just been hired as the political editor. Hunter and I bonded over literature- in particular a shared fondness for Malcolm Lowry. Boy, do I have some stories.
