Am I missing something here?? "Progressives Today" ???? rabid liberals?? Yikes.....

Jim Hoft, the founder and proprietor of The Gateway Pundit, and Kyle Olson, the founder EAGnews.org have joined forces in a new online project “Progressives Today.”

Many Americans who consider themselves left of center have an antiquated sense of today’s Democrat party. This is not their father’s Democratic party. Democrats today are controlled by, and answer to, the most radical elements of their party. Yet, with cover generously provided by the mainstream media, progressives are able to push their influence in the shadows. And they have no shame.

Progressives Today follows and publicly exposes the radical elements of the institutional left. It will be the go to resource for all elements of the progressive movement through old school investigative journalism. We will cover their conferences with undercover reporters, we will interview their leaders, we will follow their writings, teachings, social media presence. Our goal is to finally hold the left accountable for their radical opinions, their destructive policies and their dangerous anti-American agenda.

One of the goals of PT, in addition to simply exposing progressives, is to expose their views to moderates and Democrats so that a choice must be made. It is our strong belief that, Progressives Today will cause many on the left to re-evaluate their political alliances.

Looked very libertarian to me, which I have no problem with save except they are trying to pass themselves off as something else.

On ther other hand; it could be this.

It does make you wonder if there will be some attempt at marginalizing the word "progressive". Elizabeth Warren who in my opinion is the most likely to give the establishment Dems a run for their money proudly considers herself a progressive. I would watch to see what language others use, particularly HC. If "progressive" begins to dissapear from her language I would be suspect at sites like this and other attempts that may come along to paint "progressives" as the equivalent of the Republicans Tea Party.IMO.

I have this feeling that Warren is rapidly becoming the face of the refreshed Democratic Party. Politico came out with a new poll claiming that Hillary is slipping in popularity. Well, that's just one poll and I think Politico is suspect in its "neutrality." But I do notice Warren getting lots more attention and coverage. Hey, and Glenn Greenwald is attacking her!

I don't think Warren needs to talk about being a "progressive." Let's skip the label for now. What she IS talking about is what many people have been wanting political leaders to address. She is being listened to, and that is what matters...

It's, of course, not going to work, because the charge is led by coprophagists like Glenn Beck and L. Brent Bozell. Sorry to say, but America's GenXers and younger by and large have long stopped buying their regressive bullshit.

"Radical opinions and destructive policies" like FDR's Second Bill of Rights. Yeah. What tyranny. Assholes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_bill_of_rights

The Second Bill of Rights was a list of rights proposed by Franklin D. Roosevelt during his State of the Union Address on January 11, 1944.[1] In his address Roosevelt suggested that the nation had come to recognize, and should now implement, a second "bill of rights". Roosevelt's argument was that the "political rights" guaranteed by the constitution and the Bill of Rights had "proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness." Roosevelt's remedy was to declare an "economic bill of rights" which would guarantee eight specific rights:

Employment, with a living wage
Food, clothing and leisure
Farmers' rights to a fair income
Freedom from unfair competition and monopolies
Housing
Medical care
Social security
Education

Roosevelt stated that having these rights would guarantee American security, and that America's place in the world depended upon how far these and similar rights had been carried into practice.

Since it's basically just another blog that keeps in line with a radical right point of view, you probably know the drill by now.

Godwin's law invoked on Obama (surprise surprise) and the Daily Mail cited as a credible source.[1][2]

Godwin's law also invoked on environmentalists, because trying to do something about global warming is a "Fascistic/Statist (ie, Progressive) power grab".[3]

The site in general is consistent on its global warming denialism.[4][5]

Pushing Birtherism, mainly through just asking questions combined with appeal to authority,[6][7] but sometimes they're more direct about it.[8][9]

Obama may also be a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.[10]

Red-baiting, because they don't realize the Cold War is over.[11]

Gun nuttery, such as claiming that universal background checks will lead to Stalin-like tyranny.[12]

Pandering to homophobes.[13][14]

Pretty much gives you an idea of how seriously this crap needs to be taken . . .
