Dem Rep. Mocks C-SPAN Caller's Conspiracies: Watch 'Less Fox News' (Jim Himes)

(snip)
The congressman began to defend Obama, but instead suggested a different news diet to the caller.

"I will try to attend to defend — actually, I’m not going to," Himes said. "Look, with all due respect, Bob, maybe a little more C-SPAN and a little bit less Fox News. That was the grab bag of everything that Fox News and my friends on the Republican Caucus of the House in particular have tried to hang around the president."

Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) then addressed the Benghazi scandal, telling the caller that conspiracies surrounding the attack pinning it to the President have been proven inaccurate.

"There’s been absolutely zero evidence that the President had any hand in any one of these particular so-called scandals that the Republicans have desperately been trying to promote," he said. “This president has had his weaknesses and his mistakes, but the idea that he is manufacturing out of the White House conspiracy after conspiracy is just a figment of Fox News’ imagination."

Sorry to be so blunt, but "Bob" was an idiot. He tried the Gish Gallop by listing off a bunch of debunked conspiracy theories, and it's good that Rep. Himes would have none of it. What the heck is wrong with people like "Bob" when they believe all sorts of nonsense without a shred of proof or evidence of any of it?

I've lost all patience with that nonsense. The US must start requiring factual information in any broadcast that calls itself "news."
