'My Saddest Photo Yet' Shows Gaza From The ISS

This incredible picture of Gaza was tweeted on Wednesday by astronaut Alexander Gerst, who is current on board the International Space Station orbiting 200 miles above the earth. The 38-year-old German, who is a member of the European Space Agency, called the image his "saddest photo yet," adding that he could "actually see explosions and rockets flying over Gaza and Israel".

The conflict has been raging for more than two weeks, with more than 650 Palestinians and 25 Israelis reportedly killed in the fighting. On Wednesday, the UN's Human Rights Council said they were to launch an international inquiry into violations that may have been committed during Israel's latest military offensive in Gaza.
