If you haven't seen "Snowpiercer" do so

No spoilers, don't even go look up cast or plot details as this movie should be watched in a vacuum.

It is a phenomenal allegory for mankind's hubris, the rigid division between haves and have-nots and the quest for survival when there is literally no point in living.

It is in theaters or available for rental on video on demand. One of the best movies in years.

Interesting 'what if', but at the same time merely an aside, a tiny sub-plot.

I thought it was a good flick, too.

They wrapped it up fairly quick though and the class system wasn't fully explored to my taste.

The whole idea that a revolution could simmer for so long, but it then had to happen fast due to being on a train made a lot of sense to me. I like that the audience only caught the same tantalizing glimpses of first class as did the tail-enders. It made the story so much more immediate then if the director spent time world building the different cars of the train.

Their behavior as they broke through each new car was more and more believable, they had to get to the front, because it was a terrible spectacle, and all their illusions, from living years in squalor, eating processed cubes, were being ripped away in front of their very eyes.

it. I also do not agree that the story is about people when there is literally no point in living and would say it is about people under a delusion that life is unlivable outside a conformist structure.

To them, existence is the point of existence--no one on the train, including those in the front, know differently.
