Blessed are the peacemakers...

Violence is not the solution. It is not possible to kill all your enemies. For every one that you kill, you will create two more.

We should be careful not to include all Palestinians or all Israelis when we discuss good or evil. The small children do not understand the hatred or the violence perpetrated upon them.

How can Christians reconcile "thou shalt not kill" by defending those that kill the most? Where in their Bible, old or new, does it proclaim that? Even in the Old Testament, it speaks of "an eye for an eye", but it does not say a "thousand eyes for an eye".

War is murder. Just because it is done under the pretext of government, and by elected leaders, does not make it right or justified.

Why are Christians so torn by the simple precept: Thou shalt not kill?

and, our Christians have stayed back for too long ...for fear of taking a side or even speaking up that anyone could hear. Although, sadly, our Christian churches, themselves are not guiltless through the centuries.

Maybe we need some common code of HUMANITY that transcends religion for the future. But, there will still be the arms dealers and those who find grabbing a gun to settle something is the first impulse.

But..some situations are just crimes against humanity...when they are so out of proportion that an "intervention" is the only way to resolution. But....who has that power for intervention..if money for arms and huge profits are to be made by just making "Might is Right" the answer to every dispute.

I don't know.....

I don't think they're Christians. It's like a new religion, because nothing about it resembles what I learned in my religious education. I just heard on AJAmerica that the death toll is up to 800 now in Gaza. I'm beginning to think that religion itself is the root of all evil. Where's Pope Francis been hiding himself? Haven't heard a peep out of him in the last few weeks.
