They have a hot air balloon show in Billings every year. One balloon has "keep the coal in the ground" printed on it. The local radio hick show got wind of it and the DJ said apparently the hippies in the balloon don't know that the people around here have guns. Just another right wing echo chamber that might cause a balloon to be shot at. They are still on air, I might call them and ask them why the violent comment.

(3,539 posts)Just the type of 'humor' that incites violence. More so than guns alone, it is this type of talk radio that causes problems.
If this is their usual format it would be better to have the FCC pull their license than ban the guns.
Don't call them, write down their call letters and file a complaint with the FCC.

(11,862 posts)Coal country is where the coal mining is.

(19,818 posts)Flying a giant finger over them is misdirected effort. If you want to curtail coal burning then you focus on alternatives, demand, and efficiency while also figuring out what to do for the local coal mining economies when the coal jobs go away.

(11,862 posts)somehow survived the automobile...coal miners can survive without coal mines. In fact they would be better off without black lung.
I agree, the younger should be taught new trades, and the older given pensions enough to live on. Of course this is America...what is the opposite of 'One for all and all for one'?
