LINCOLN — Zach Wyatt-Gomez is among the rarest of political animals.

He is a former state lawmaker, elected to the Missouri House from a rural district. He is a lifelong Republican.

And he is openly gay.

When he came out publicly in 2012, he was the nation’s only openly gay Republican serving in a state legislature.

5. Clarence Thomas climbed the affirmative action ladder

Every step of the way, all the way to the SCOTUS. Once there, he has cast votes to pull the ladder up and out of reach of others, time and time again. This guy sounds like an LBGT equivalent of Thomas.

Yeah, he can thank all those liberal Democrats who fought for decades for his right to marry. Don't even think about getting a job at Creighton, the Catholic Church will can your a$$ if they find out you're married.
