Research: For hygiene, fist bumping beats handshakes

Bumping fists may be a more hygienic greeting than shaking hands, according to experiments carried out at Aberystwyth University in Wales.

Dave Whitworth, senior lecturer at Aberystwyth and doctoral student Sara Mela carried out the research, dipping a glove into a bacterial broth before gingerly extending a hand.
