Palestinians Face Looming ‘Public Health Crisis’ - Aid Worker

NEW YORK, July 29 (RIA Novosti) – Palestinians in the besieged coastal strip of Gaza face a “public health crisis” because of Israeli airstrikes on infrastructure, an aid worker told RIA Novosti.

“Gaza is on the precipice of a public health crisis where the rapid spread of water borne disease and illness will wreak further havoc on a population that is struggling to survive under indiscriminate Israeli bombardment,” said Danny Muller, who worked in the region.

“Israel has intentionally targeted water wells, pipes and sewage stations. This has exacerbated the water crisis that already existed due to the Israeli blockade. Put simply: bombing civilian infrastructure that delivers and purifies water is murder.”

"Submission" was pretty much the status quo ante.

What comes next, with the electricity taken out for 2 million people in a densely populated urban area from which there is no escape, is going to be impressive.

We normally don't get to see that sort of thing close up on live TV. Even after the Haitian earthquake, there was help on the way fairly promptly and no armed conflict in progress.

This is shaping up to become horrific.

No refrigeration, no fresh water, no sewage.

Of course we know what will happen next.
