I only learned of northeastern tornadoes recently. Kind of like it snowing in Florida, happens infrequently.

Since 2004, when we got hit by FOUR hurricanes, it's been fairly quiet. Hopefully this year will be the same, for all of us.

We really need some rain.
Could be a TD later today. The longer she (will be TS Bertha they say) takes to form, the greater chance of reaching the mainland.

It still has a nice spin but the thunderstorm activity is struggling with dry air. As of this morning, almost all the weather models kill this thing north of the Bahamas.

I think the wave right behind it will suffer the same fate. It looks like there some good storms over Uganda that could be something in a couple weeks when the climate is traditionally more favorable for formation.

Thanks for spreading the word about Weather Watchers!

If you prefer not to answer, I understand. Do you have formal meteorological training ? I've just picked up information over the years myself.

However I spend my days frequently perusing hurricane blogs and forums of people that are weather experts, most notably wunderground's Dr. Masters and the Storm2k tropical weather forum.
