Russian-backed rebels are surrounding the crash site with land mines...investigators cant get in

Land Mines Are Keeping Investigators From MH17 Crash Site

International investigators' attempts to pore through the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in eastern Ukraine were thwarted yet again today because of land mines placed on the route, allegedly by pro-Russian separatists. It marked the fourth consecutive day that investigators from the Netherlands and Australia, along with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, deemed the crash site too dangerous to visit. Earlier in the week, fighting between the separatists and Ukrainian troops kept them away.

Fleeing Ukrainians turn seaside resorts into refuge camps
28 July 2014

With their sunburnt backs, flip-flops and baseball caps, the families lolling about the Ukrainian resort town of Sjedove on the Azov Sea could be mistaken for holidaymakers.

But they are all refugees, fleeing the deadly combat in east Ukraine as the fighting has escalated in recent days and come closer and closer to large cities.

The run-down hotels in the town, around 150 kilometres (93 miles) south of Donetsk, usually serve coal miners on holiday from the Donbass region, Ukraine's industrial heartland.

The sad part is neither of them care about world opinion as they've never been more popular at home.
