Lawsuit? These things always backfire on the Republicans...

One thing I've learned about the Right is that they're always brought down by hubris - usually when there in a position of strength.
They shut down the government under Newt Gingrich in the mid-nineties, and the public sided with president Clinton...They sought to impeach Clinton in the late nineties, dragging the whole thing along until the public took the attitude that they no longer wanted all that shit on their television screens, and the Republicans actually did poorly in the 1998 midterms...they shut down the government again a year or so ago, and their ratings plummeted...my feeling is, this lawsuit could backfire by firing up the Democratic base as least as much as the right - the absurdity and exasperating hubris of it has certainly made me (even more) restless.

even if the lawsuit fails, they have fired up their Obama-hating base and are raking in a shitload of money.
