There are certain topics that no matter how benign the post in question may be, I would probably vote to hide because I find the topic itself disgusting. This is mostly to do with guns. So to me, if you opt out then you have your reasons, don't need to feel badly about it.

I can't find a way to re-apply....but I was getting swamped

I didn't sign up to the Senate to vote for this and that shit!...I just wanted fountains and grapes and stuff!

I always turn down the gun summons because I know I can't be objective on that topic.

Somehow I still get them from time to time. I think it's pretty much random.
