that it doesn't control costs in a sustainable way. Another downside, of course, is that it further establishes private insurance companies in the mix. Perhaps the greatest upside is that at last health care transformation is becoming a topic of conversation and awareness for enough people that single payer can start to become viable in more states.

More pressure on the idiots to make the right decision - another good outcome. Unfortunately, the citizens of those states suffer.
