Need tech-advice: Is this incriminating evidence that russian soldiers operate in Ukraine?

Buzzfeed has uncovered that a russian soldier posted pics to instagram from GPS-coordinates that lie inside ukrainian territory.

Buzzfeed's conclusion that HE was the radar-operator of the guys who shot down MH17 is far-fetched, but the rest seems credible to me.
