Anyone who has the principles and balls (or lady balls) to stand up and publicly denounce Israel's madness in Gaza.
Hopefully I won't be sitting it out.

(25,023 posts)How many are we killing today in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, (how many are dying today in Iraq as a direct result of our actions and how many tens and hundreds of thousands have we already exterminated that will never have justice and we laugh at the very idea of such a thing and those that don't giggle whine that doing so would destabilize our Homeland) and all over the globe and these folks didn't even fart in our general direction?
Was accountability and action demanded for fomenting and supporting death squads in South America or for destabilizing their governments time and time again?
Where are the fevered demands for cutting ties and ceasing to supply Saudi Arabia with weapons?
Are votes denied until the gulag in Cuba is closed and the property returned to the nation or until the insane embargo is lifted?
What about stopping the extinctions we are causing or stopping the deaths due to drought, starvation, and loss of land we have coming?
Or what about no votes until our children don't go to bed hungry and/or homeless.
What about stopping the robbing and pillaging of the commons and "small people" for the extravagant gain of the few?
How about controlling the brutality of our police?
Maybe stopping the ghettoification of blacks, Hispanics, natives on the reservations, and the poor in general in our own country?
It is past weird for me that this is a reasonable single issue situation but others are worthy of contempt and mockery no matter how all encompassing they might be.

(15,558 posts)and my antiwar position has always been front and center when deciding who to support. My primary favorites usually don't make it out of the gate for the same reason.
TheKentuckian
(25,023 posts)front and center or not and I'm having trouble grasping the difference other than in the end being able to stomach much worse over a longer period of time.
Gaza and the West Bank since 1947 probably can't touch the toll of our misdeeds in South America alone, much less adding in any of our "wars" like Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq none of which even threw a firecracker at us.
We don't even know who and how many we are killing right now.
You sure don't want to even begin to calculate the suffering and death imposed without firing a shot around the world due to our economic colonialism and embargoes. How many Gazas do we quietly impose here at home even, in any given year? 40,000 die just on the alter of the insurance cartel's profit margin every year.

(15,558 posts)It's not, but I'm am. Yes, this shit has been going on a long time forever, but my tolerance has run out. In our "post 9/11 world" with it's relativist rules - war when you want, spy when you want, take what you want, kill who you want... - it's more important to me than ever that the people who represent us don't cement this madness with their indifference and acceptance. So yeah, this is my litmus test; step up or piss off.

(9,748 posts)And anybody who accuses you of being politically correct for using it should be referred to Old Blood and "Guts" himself. If it was good enough for Patton, it should be good enough for any stupid "OHMIGOD, PC!!!!" idiot.
If you want to really impress your friends, you could go with "intestinal fortitude". But I believe that originated from Illinois' most recently** convicted governor.
**Welcome to Illinois: where we have to qualify which "convicted governor".

Rod is the most recent, right? lol
