Although the shots are grainy, it's hard to imagine that Patrolman Wilson (identified as standing to the right in photo) is suffering from "a fractured eye-socket" at this point as this right-wing source claims: "Sources in St. Louis including those in the district attorneys office confirmed to the Gateway Pundit that Wilson suffered an 'orbital blowout fracture to the eye socket.'" (I provide no link to Gateway Pundit because it sucks.)
He's walking around calmly. No ice pack to the face, no EMT rushing to his aid.
(Video is at the very bottom of the page at link.)

(16,286 posts)the idiots at discussionist are thrilled at a video where allegedly you can hear someone say the kid ran at the cop, I would too after he starting firing at me

(19,877 posts)That site is for loonies. I'll take Piaget Crenshaw's account of what happened.

(15,189 posts)How could he stand in the heat that long without passing out from his injuries. Is there any video of EMT's working on him?
What part of the concrete did Brown attack him with?

(3,813 posts)Yup - that cop looks uninjured. Thankful there is video.
Back when I was an adolescent, a combination of a smart-aleck mouth and slow reflexes / ducking / fighting abilities got me clocked in the eye socket a few times. After each incident (one of which required stitches, one which did not), I was not walking around or standing casually.
The cop's story certainly appears to be untrue.

(34,131 posts)I had that happen to me - a horse threw her head into my face and her eye ridge hit mine. It stunned me nearly as much as any of my several concussions and fractured my upper orbital ridge (bone under the eye brow).
Within a quarter of an hour I had gone blind in that eye from the pressure of the bleeding into the eye socket. I had a lump the size of a small potato above the eye. I actually didn't realize that the bone had been broken because the swelling and bruising were so bad no one could palpate it. We didn't do casual X-rays because we had no insurance and couldn't afford much in the way of extra expenses.
By the next day I had the granddaddy of black eyes - it went from halfway up my forehead almost to my jaw line. The whole side of my head ached It took two or three weeks until the pressure on the optic nerve reduced enough I could see out of that eye again. I'd gone to my regular doctor for the injury and he personally drove me to an ophthalmologist to make sure it was checked out so I was sure I would not be permanently blinded.
Unless Darren Wilson is impervious to pain, I do not see how he could have been walking around as casually as he is in the video that has been released.

(625 posts)Where's the ice pack? Where're the EMT's?
He's leisurely pacing around like he's waiting for a ride to pick him up.

(13,190 posts)He is acting like there is nothing wrong with his eye or any other injury for that matter

(625 posts)So you're right about the eye . . . you can't see much.
But I've broken a couple of bones, one in my hand, and it hurt like hell. I was bent over in pain for awhile.
You don't see anything like this in the video; he's just calmly strolling around.
