Their Demands

Call to Action: National March on Ferguson

Justice for Michael Brown Leadership Coalition Demands

1.We demand that Darren Wilson, the officer involved in the shooting death of Michael Brown be immediately fired from Ferguson police department instead of remaining on paid leave. We demand Darren Wilson be charged and vigorously prosecuted for the murder of Michael Brown.

2.We demand that Missouri Governor, Jay Nixon, under the emergency law clause he issued immediately remove St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert P. McCulloch from the case involving Michael Brown.

3.We call upon the United States Federal Attorney General, Eric Holder and Missouri state Attorney General Chris Koster to investigate the policies and practices of the local municipalities in Saint Louis City, Saint Louis County and other municipalities throughout the state of Missouri that have demonstrated a legacy of racial profiling. Accordingly, we call upon those officials to develop penalties/policies to put an end to those practices.

4.We call for the Missouri State Auditor Tom Schweich to do an audit of the funds of the local municipalities that have demonstrated a history of racial profiling. We demand accountability of how much revenue is being generated from traffic violations and how these funds are being spent.

very reasonable demands in Justice for Michael Brown! Mahalo for your OP, she~

From your link in the comments below.. just as a reminder..

"At least 5 Ferguson officers apart from Brown shooter have been named in lawsuits"

"Federal investigators are focused on one Ferguson, Mo., police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black teenager, but at least five other police officers and one former officer in the town’s 53-member department have been named in civil rights lawsuits alleging the use of excessive force.

In four federal lawsuits, including one that is on appeal, and more than a half-dozen investigations over the past decade, colleagues of Darren Wilson’s have separately contested a variety of allegations, including killing a mentally ill man with a Taser, pistol-whipping a child, choking and hog-tying a child and beating a man who was later charged with destroying city property because his blood spilled on officers’ clothes.

One officer has faced three internal affairs probes and two lawsuits over claims he violated civil rights and used excessive force while working at a previous police department in the mid-2000s. That department demoted him after finding credible evidence to support one of the complaints, and he subsequently was hired by the Ferguson force."

The horrific police response was unbelievable in it's intensity. That was no simple police response, that was a militaristic stand. We are a nation now at war with our own people?

From your link

I believe that Michael's death is going to be the catalyst that can tip the scales toward justice. Not just for Michael, but the Michaels that came before him.

Thank you for the link, Cha.

it was cold blooded murder.

And here, Cha. I don't know if you saw this...

Shock and awe (technically known as rapid dominance) is a military doctrine based on the use of overwhelming power, dominant battlefield awareness and maneuvers, and spectacular displays of force to paralyze the enemy's perception of the battlefield and destroy its will to fight.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_and_awe

These were protesters and those that mourned Michael, that the military, I mean police responded to.

I think that is why she was putting those in the grass. The pictures of Ferguson have a lot of green grass. The place should be about living, and not dying.

as a resident of the state of Missouri, I find these demands to be very reasonable and understandable.

I love the hands sticking out of the ground, would be nice to see those throughout the communities as a symbol of what work needs to be done.

Thank you so much, sheshe. My heart is in Ferguson, Missouri and anywhere in this land where black children feel they must raise their hands in the presence of a policeman.
