Of course, I always get a flu shot, so I'm safe from influenza, for the most part.

(68,644 posts)2. Depression. 18 US Veterans kills themselves each day, on average.
Roll in all the other suicides and deaths due to depression-induced behaviors, and you have an epidemic.
The veterans alone is an epidemic, IMO.

Influenza may beat out depression in any given year, but year after year, depression takes the ribbon.

and trust me - I worry more about family members and depression than I do about them and flu.
However - for this poll I wanted to focus people's attention on the relative risk of two infectious diseases.
